About me

I have a home studio in Provo, Utah and I am available to shoot mainly in Utah and Salt Lake Counties. I got my first camera when I was 8 and I don’t think there was any other path for me in life after that even though my parents, family, friends, and teachers provided an unbelievably wide variety and depth of creative and exploratory opportunities of which I partook and am thankful for. My grandpa was always snapping photos with an SLR and I eventually wanted to try out his big camera. I got hooked on it at age 13 when I had my first photography class and was critiqued and encouraged by a Miss Christensen. Two others that I had that class with at Canyon View Jr. High went on to be my peers in the photography program at BYU. I graduated with a B.F.A. in 2007. My family puts up with my constant use of them as assistants and to test my lighting because they know photography keeps me going! My ultimate goal with each photo I work with is to create art that you feel a connection to. I can provide a personal and collaborative creative experience from the beginning to the end of the process. I am so grateful to all my clients who have allowed me to record their personalities and important moments for them! Some of their reviews follow.

  • Tia was professional and worked well with the wide range of ages in our family photo. She was very meticulous with getting the final prints perfect for my family and to her expectations. I highly recommend her. –Cindy C.
  • Tia is a great photographer. She beautifully captured a whole story of pictures of my children playing with my Dad one last time. We knew he would pass away from cancer shortly after. They are my favorite pictures to look at. So many great shots, like his hands holding my baby’s hands and tickling my kids. She was awesome. –Sarah L.
  • Tia did my 9 month old’s portraits. She was really great with the baby, patient and engaging. She was flexible when the baby didn’t cooperate and found other options, cute things to do when things didn’t go as planned, as happens with kids. She also did some great effects work on the images that made them pop. I’ve had many compliments on the pictures, she really did an excellent job. –Birgitte S.
  • Tia Hall did a wonderful job in taking my head shots. She thought of many different items to make the results Excellent. –George M. Sawyer
